Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas Inc. created the Employee of the Year Award to officially recognize one of our exceptional employees. This year an employee at the Sherman Processing Plant was selected for his outstanding commitment to our organization.
Jackie Stockton began his employment with Goodwill in 1986 as a helper on truck routes. Over the years Jackie has learned to work more than a few positions inside and outside the plant. At one time he was a sales clerk in our Outlet store. He has moved donations around in the Plant for processing. He has unloaded and loaded trucks to send merchandise out to other facilities. He helps with set-ups for any of the organization’s events. Eventually, he became a very dependable driver of our trucks.
During 2020 Jackie was asked to fill in for the forklift driver and run the Yard-Operations. Without any hesitation, his response was, “I will do anything you ask me to do.” This has been his normal response to any task that is asked of him, even if it falls outside of his expected job tasks. He sets a great example for co-workers to follow to ‘just go in and get the job done to the best of your abilities’. He treats Goodwill as his family.
Jackie’s commitment to Goodwill and doing the job as best as possible, has earned him the 2020 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR AWARD!
