Dean Smart started at Goodwill Industries on December 22, 2012. He came to us through state Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Dean started out in the hanging department and has since learned many different positions including working on the back dock, loading trailers, running the bailer, and sorting shoes. Dean has had learning disabilities throughout his life and began suffering from seizures at the age of eighteen.
We strive to take care of Dean and meet his needs so that he is successful on the job. When asked what he likes about his job, Dean replied, “I like coming here every day because I know the people here and I know they like me. I even got my own slogan working here… Dean did it!” Dean is a hard worker and is always willing to do what needs to be done to complete a job. Dean is now married with a family and living a successful life.
