Junior League of Collin County

Community Participant of the year
2020

The Junior League of Collin County is proudly partnering with Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas for the 31st annual Trinkets to Treasures, Collin County's largest one-day resale event. In the past, this event was exclusively organized and staffed by the Junior League of Collin County provisional new member class. Each year, JLCC members and local businesses donate merchandise, such as furniture, apparel, shoes, children's toys, sports equipment, small electronics, and more for the event. Proceeds from the sale directly support JLCC's numerous community projects and programs.

Local nonprofit agencies are delivered $25 shopping certificates for their clients to shop at Trinkets to Treasures. This often provides basic needs to victims of family violence, families in need, and toys for children living in protective care. Some of the local agencies that receive these cards to distribute to families they serve include Allen Community Outreach, Plano ISD, Project Hope, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Health Services of North Texas, Assistance Center of Collin County, Assistance League of Greater Collin County, Hope's Door New Beginnings Center, and Samaritan Inn.

Katrina Coffman; COO/VP Stated, "We actively seek out, develop, and nurture alliances with other organizations and individuals that actively share our goals."

"Our exciting new partnership with Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas will enable both of our organizations to fulfill our missions and provide additional community services, including $30,000 in shopping certificates this year alone. This new partnership will make a significant impact throughout our region for years to come" states Melanie Perkins, JLCC President 2019-2020.
