A volunteer board of directors that establishes the organizational policies governs Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, Inc. We began operations
in 1958 and in 1959 opened our first retail store in Sherman. Our region includes 16 counties in North Texas and Oklahoma, which we have 3 plants,
11 stores, and 1 As-Is store. To fund our mission, we collect donated clothing and household goods to sell in our retail stores. Additionally we
provide industrial and environmental contract labor services to business. We also receive funding from donations and from corporate, foundation and government grants.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities or disadvantages. Providing employment opportunities, job training and
employment services, as well as job placement opportunities and post-employment support. Goodwill receives greater than 7.8 million pounds of donations from over
74,238 donors. In 2002, we served 871 individuals through training and placement services and employed an average of 226 people.
Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, Inc. has been successful because of the community, business, donors, customer, volunteers, social service agencies, and media within our region.
